The size of the Windows 11 taskbar cannot be adjusted through Windows settings like in Windows 10, and you need to apply a registry tweak to change the size of the taskbar in order to have small icons or large icons.
How to Resize Taskbar and Icons Size in Windows 11.
To modify the taskbar icons size to smaller/larger in Windows 11:
1. Open Registry Editor. To do that:
1. Press Windows + R keys to open the run command box.
2. Type regedit and press Enter.
2. Navigate to the following key:
- HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerAdvanced
3. Right-click at Advanced key and select New -> DWORD (32-bit) Value
4. Rename the “New Value #1” to TaskbarSi
5. Double click at TaskbarSi value and change the value data to 0 for small taskbar icons, or to 2 for large taskbar icons. *
* Note: If you want to revert to the default taskbar and icons size, set the Value Data to “1”, or delete the “TaskbarSi” REG_DWORD value.
6. Close Registry Editor.
7. Restart your computer to apply change and you’re done!
