For that reason many Antivirus companies in the market sell premium suites to monitor your computer for malicious threats and keep you protected from viruses, malware programs and malicious websites. But many users don’t want or are not able to pay an expensive Antivirus suite to protect themselves and they look for the most reliable Free antivirus software for their computers.

AVG Antivirus Free is one of the best free antivirus programs available today. The free version of AVG constantly protects your computer from viruses and malware attacks. AVG Antivirus Free, also contains some extra security features like Web protection, Email protection and Firewall protection in real time.
This means that the Link Scanner always protects you from malicious websites that host malicious software. The AVG’s Email Scanning engine protects you from emails that include malicious attachments and the Firewall engine protects you from hackers and other suspicious attacks. Apart from these features, with AVG, you can perform scheduled scans on your computer in non working hours and you ‘re always updated with the latest virus definitions.
All these features keep your computer protected, but some times AVG runs into performance issues, especially in old computers. Other times, AVG may block sites or services that are useful and not harmful. But, in such cases, you can add exceptions in AVG’s firewall to resolve this issue.

Bitdefender Free is easy to install and manage, works silently on the background and wastes minimum system resources to work.
Bitdefender Antivirus Free lacks of features that other vendors include in their products (e.g. Web, Email or Firewall protection), but, on the other hand, it is one of the best antivirus software that do everything that they are designed for. Also, the user interface is minimal and almost no customization on program settings is required.
Overall, Bitdefender Free is a another good choice for your antivirus protection with great virus scanning and removal results from different labs.
Avira Antivirus Free
Avira Free Antivirus is a another great choice to protect your system from viruses, malware and rootkits. Avira Free Antivirus contains a powerful scan engine that protects you from threats and has great detection and removal results from separated labs. The program’s interface also has a lot of configuration options, like custom scan exceptions, scheduler, reports, etc.
Avira Free Antivirus is a strong basic antivirus solution, but it doesn’t contain some extra security features like Email protection or Web protection. The only option for Web protection is to additionally install the Avira Browser Safety extension which is available for Chrome and Firefox. (Email and Web guard protection is included by default in Avira Antivirus PRO version).
Overall, Avira Free Antivirus is a very good choice for your protection. The program lacks extra security features, but you can try both versions (the Free and the Premium in trial basis) and find out the difference.
