Method 1. Modify Printer Settings.

1. Navigate to Control Panel -> Devices and Printers.
2. Right-click on your Printer and select Properties.

4. At Lexmark Printing Preferences, set the Paper type to Plain and click OK. *

* Note: Other settings that can applied on your printer to improve the print speed:

  • Print Resolution: 600 dpi will slow the printer down.
  • Quiet Mode: Off

5. Now, click Apply and OK in ‘Printer Properties” window to apply the change.
6. Open a document with multiple pages, and check if the issue is fixed. If not, continue to the method-2 below.

Method 2. Change the Printer Driver.

1. Navigate to Control Panel -> Devices and Printers.
2. Right-click on your Printer and select Remove Device.

2. After the printer removal, navigate to Programs and features in Control Panel and uninstall the Lexmark software (of any).

3. Navigate to Lexmark Drivers & Downloads site, and search for available drivers for your Printer Model and Operating System.
4. From the list of the available drivers, download and install one of the following drivers: *

  • Universal Print Driver.
  • Universal PCL5e Emulation Print Driver.
  • Universal PostScript 3 Emulation Print Driver.

* Note: I suggest you try the print drivers in the order listed above.

5. When the printer driver installation is completed, restart your PC.
6. After restart, try to print a long document. The slow printing issue, should be fixed.
