Method 1. Clear the Microsoft Teams cache.

3. In the “Open” box type the following path and press Enter:

- blob_storage
- cache
- databases
- GPUcache
- IndexedDB
- Local Storage
- tmp
5. Open Teams and see if the problem is fixed.
Method 2. Run Microsoft Teams in Compatibly Mode for Windows 8.
Some users have reported that the error “We weren’t able to connect” in Microsoft Teams solved after running MS Teams in Compatibility Mode.
1. Right-click on Microsoft Teams icon in he Taskbar and select Quit.
2. Then search for “teams” and then click Open file location on Microsoft Teams app.
3. Right-click at Microsoft Teams shortcut and choose Properties.
4. At Compatibility tab, select Run this program in compatibly mode for: Windows 8 and click Apply and OK.
5. Now, open MS Teams and check if the problem is solved.
Method 3. FIX Teams “We weren’t able to connect” issue by Enabling TLS 1.0, 1.1 & 1.2 protocols.
Another method to fix sign-in problems in Microsoft Teams, is to enable TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 in Internet Options in Control Panel.
1. Press Windows + R keys to open the Run command box.
2. Type control inetcpl.cpl and press OK (or Enter) to open the Internet Options.
3. At Internet Properties, select the Advanced tab and then scroll down and under Security section, check the checkboxes next to Use TLS 1.0, Use TLS 1.1 & Use TLS 1.2. When done click OK and then try to login to Teams.
Method 4. Remove and Reinstall Microsoft Teams.
If after applying the above methods you are still unable to connect/login to Teams, then try a full uninstall and reinstall of Microsoft Teams, following the instructions below:
1. Press Windows + R keys to open the Run command box.
2. Type control appwiz.cpl and press OK (or Enter).
3. Select the Microsoft Teams and choose Uninstall.
4. Restart your PC.
5. After restart, press the Windows + R keys to open the Run command box.
6. In command box type the following path and press Enter.
- %appdata%Microsoft
7. Locate and delete the Teams folder.
8. Finally proceed to download and install Microsoft Teams for desktop on your system again.
Method 5. Use the Web version of Microsoft Teams.
