Method 1. Create an App Shortcut in Desktop from ‘All Apps’ list.

The easiest way to create desktop shortcuts to Microsoft Store apps or other applications in Windows 10/11, is by using the “All Apps” list.

1. Click the Start menu and click All Apps to view all the installed Store apps and programs on your PC.

2. Click on the program/application you want to create a shortcut to on your desktop and, holding down the left mouse button, drag it to an empty spot on the desktop until the “Link” indicator appears. Then release the left mouse button to create the shortcut.

Method 2. Create Desktop Shortcuts from ‘Applications’ Folder.

The second way to place an application shortcut on your desktop in Windows 11/10 is to drag the Microsoft Store application to your desktop. Of course, using this way you can create a desktop shortcut for any other installed third-party application (outside of Microsoft Store).

1. Press Windows imageimage + R keys to open the run command box.
2. Type explorer shell:AppsFolder  and press Enter to open the “Applications” folder which contains all the installed applications and apps from Microsoft Store.

3. Click on the application you want to create a shortcut and without releasing the left mouse button, drag it to an empty spot on the desktop. Then release the left mouse button to create a shortcut of the application on your desktop.
