If Windows 10 is installed on a hard drive and not on USB, or if you want to upgrade Windows to Go running on USB, proceed as follows:
1. Press Windows 
+ R keys to open the run command box.
2. Type regedit and press Enter.
3. In Registry Editor, navigate to the following location:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControl
4. At the right pane locate the PortableOperatingSystem REG_DWORD and delete it, or alternately change the value data from 1 to 0
5. Close the registry editor and reboot your PC.
6. Try to update Windows 10 again.
